A new chapter in the Art product line in the age of mirrorless cameras.
Fast, unparalleled optical performance, compact and lightweight, and high-speed AF ─ it's in the palm of your hand.

The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art combines the fine and precise imaging performance essential for portraits with an impressive bokeh that only lenses with a speed of F1.4 can achieve. The design of the 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art impresses with its light weight and compact body and defies the usual conventions. The performance level and functionality of this Lens are a bank for successful portraits, which will convince amateur and professional photographers alike.

The light telephoto focal length of 85mm and the impressive F1.4 bokeh ensure a sharp, clearly cropped subject against a velvety soft background, just as is important for a successful portrait image. In addition, the fast and reliable AF supports the photographer in his work. The compact body is packed with extensive functions, is dust and splash-proof and has an excellent build quality.

SIGMA's 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art can be seen as the new "ultimate portrait lens" for the age of mirrorless cameras. With this 85mm F1.4 lens, SIGMA ensures that everyday life is full of new possibilities.

1.
Record-breaking performance worthy of the name 85mm F1.4 | Art
85mm F1.4 is basically synonymous with a portrait lens. With the Art product line, SIGMA has dedicated itself to the highest possible optical performance. To achieve this, SIGMA utilizes the latest technologies in optical design and the production technologies of the Aizu plant, SIGMA's sole production site, to develop these lenses. The result is an absolutely detailed image, which is important for portrait photography and will satisfy amateurs and professionals alike.

The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is equipped with the latest high refractive index glass, which, in addition to no less than five SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and an aspherical lens, ensures complete correction of aberrations that cannot be eliminated by the camera's correction function. Particular emphasis has been placed on the correction of longitudinal color aberrations, so that photographers will be delighted by sharp images without color fringing - even at F1.4. The high resolution from the center to the edges ensures sharpness in the focus area, while the F1.4 aperture for an impressive bokeh, which in total brings out the subject impressively.

Multiple simulations of ray tracing and repeated practical tests have led to the conclusion that the 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art efficiently minimizes ghosting and delivers clear, sharp images even in backlighting. Photographers can realize their artistic visions with an aperture of F1.4 without having to worry about image quality. They can therefore concentrate fully on operating the camera. The new Lens undoubtedly delivers optical performance at a high level and lives up to the name 85mm F1.4 Art.

2.
Lightweight and compact - F1.4 in a new dimension
The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art was developed exclusively for mirrorless cameras and weighs just 630g with a filter diameter of 77mm and a body length of 94.1mm*. It has a large lens diameter and excellent optical performance.
Nevertheless, it has a lightweight and compact body - a combination that has long been difficult to achieve.

The AF system uses a stepping motor that is optimized for both phase AF and contrast AF. This not only enables smooth shooting via face/eye detection AF, but also reduces the size of the lens body, as a focusing lens suitable for a stepping motor can be made smaller.

In addition, by making optimum use of the camera's internal aberration correction functions, SIGMA has been able to concentrate on correcting aberrations that can be eliminated exclusively by the optical system, allowing the lens to be made even smaller. Thanks to this lightweight and compact body, photographers can also use the fast 85mm F1.4 Lens in everyday life, such as for snapshots. The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art invites photographers to shoot in a highly unconventional way.
* For L-Mount

3.
A wide range of functions and excellent processing quality
Despite its small size, this compact Lens has extensive functions that will delight both ambitious amateur photographers and professional photographers. The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art has the new aperture ring lock switch. This prevents unintentional operation of the aperture ring during shooting. The focus mode switch on the lens body and the AFL button*, which can be assigned selected functions on the camera side, also support the photographer when taking pictures.

In addition to dust and splash protection, this Lens uses high-quality materials such as aluminum and TSC (Thermally-Stable-Composite) in predestined areas, so that a performance level worthy of the Art product line is achieved. In addition to the durability of the body, the focus was also on the feel and operation, such as the smooth movement of each ring and switch. The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art ensures smooth shooting in any situation.

*Limited to cameras compatible with it. The functions also depend on the camera.
