  • Sony CFexpress memory card type A
  • 80 GB storage capacity
  • high data transfer rate, durability and reliability

Sony introduces the world's first Type A CFexpress memory card:
The 80 or 160 GB variants deliver high-speed performance with write speeds of up to 700 MB/s1 and read speeds of up to 800 MB/s1, and offer uncompromising durability in a compact design.

Sony today introduced a new type of memory card:
The world's first2 Type A CFexpress memory cards are being launched in two 80GB or 160GB variants (CEA-G80T and CEA-G160T).
They join Sony's existing range of Tough memory cards. High data transfer rates, durability and reliability - Sony's new CFexpress Type A cards make it easier for photographers and media artists to work and create stress-free.

High-speed performance enables efficient shooting without stress
Both the CEA-G80T (80 GB) and CEA-G160T (160 GB) use the latest flash technology to achieve write speeds of 700 MB/s1 and read speeds of 800 MB/s1 with minimal buffer erase times. Type A CFexpress cards are ideal for shooting more than 1,000 uncompressed RAW images at blazing speeds without interruption, or for shooting 4K 120p movies at high bit rates3, especially with the new Alpha 7S III, which has two slots for Type A CFexpress cards or SDXC/SDHC cards (compatible with UHS-I or UHS-II cards). This enables simultaneous recording over longer periods of time, even at high bit rates. Professional media professionals can look forward to smooth workflows.

Efficientheat-dissipating design
The new Type A CFexpress memory cards are equipped with a heatdissipator. This is made of a special alloy from Sony with excellent heat conduction properties and dissipates the heat generated by the card during the rapid transfer of huge amounts of data. Users can accordingly film internal video at 4K 120p for extended periods4.

Uncompromising Durability
In line with Sony's Tough specifications, the new Type A CFexpress memory cards feature high bending and shock resistance. The valuable data is optimally protected even when frequently replaced in harsh conditions. The standard bending strength values set for Type A CFexpress cards are exceeded by a factor of ten, and the impact value by a factor of five. In addition, thanks to their special internal construction, they achieve IPX7 against water ingress and IP5X against dust ingress - IP57 for increased durability.

High reliability
Accidents do happen. Sony's Memory Card File Rescue Software5 for data recovery allows users to recover accidentally deleted RAW images and 4K videos. In addition, Sony's Media Scan Utility6 diagnostic software is due for an update that will allow users of Type A CFexpress cards to run diagnostics and receive appropriate notifications when the number of read/write cycles approaches the card's limit.
