Weatherproof and high-resolution - the new FUJINON XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR ultra-wide-angle zoom lens
FUJIFILM is expanding its lens portfolio with the new FUJINON XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR ultra-wide-angle zoom lens. It replaces the predecessor model FUJINON XF10-24mmF4 R OIS.

Like its predecessor, the new XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR offers a focal length range of 10 to 24 mm (equivalent to 15 to 36 mm KB). The optical construction and the continuous speed of F4 are identical, as is the high resolution performance. However, the new model also offers a range of additional features such as an aperture scale, the ability to lock the aperture ring in position A (auto) and a weatherproof lens barrel. This makes it suitable for outdoor use in all weathers and ideal for demanding landscape and nature photography.

The design has been optimized in terms of weight and size. The new XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR is 25 grams lighter, the focus ring and zoom ring are narrower than before. In addition, the OIS image stabilization is more powerful and enables up to 3.5 EV stops longer exposure times.

Weatherproof lens barrel and advanced features
The aperture ring has a scale that indicates the selected aperture value. It is therefore no longer necessary to read the current settings in the viewfinder or on the camera's rear LC display. Another new feature is the automatic lock function in position A (Auto), which prevents accidental adjustment of the aperture value and was previously reserved for the medium format lenses of the GFX system.

Inside the lens barrel there is also a new gyro sensor, which enables improved image stabilization up to 3.5 EV stops - an increase of 1.0 EV stop compared to the previous model. In conjunction with the latest camera generation of the X series (e.g. FUJIFILM X-T4), which has in-camera five-axis image stabilization, exposure times can be increased by up to approx. 6.5 EV stops.

The XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR is splash and dust-proof and can also be used in cold temperatures down to minus ten degrees Celsius. Despite its enhanced features, it is 25 grams lighter than its predecessor. It is also even more compact, as the focus and zoom rings have been made three and two millimetres narrower respectively.

High image quality and short close-up distance
The optical design of the Lens comprises fourteen elements in ten groups. These include four aspherical lenses, which correct spherical aberrations, distortion and image field curvature, as well as four elements made of ED glass to correct chromatic aberrations. The result is images with impressive sharpness right into the corners of the image. Despite its compact size, the lens offers a speed of F4 over the entire focal length range of 10 to 24 mm (equivalent to 15 to 36 mm KB).

An elaborate coating on the concave front element prevents the ghost images that often occur with ultra-wide-angle lenses and ensures images of high brilliance and sharpness.

The shortest focusing distance is 24 cm, making the lens also suitable for close-ups. Due to the wide angle of view, a large section of the surroundings is included in the image composition, which enables images with a pronounced depth effect.

Fast and quiet autofocus
The Lens has internal focusing, which enables reliable autofocus in every situation. Lightweight focusing elements and a high-precision AF motor ensure fast and quiet focusing. In combination with the face and eye recognition of the X series, precise focusing is always guaranteed, even when shooting people.
