Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT
A compact, powerful Speedlite flash unit that's easy to use - on-camera or positioned externally
The powerful, versatile and compact flash unit for new ways of lighting. Wireless remote triggering makes it easy to use as an off-camera flash, opening up new and creative possibilities in photography.
Powerful, yet compact enough to carry anywhere
With a guide number of 43 (m, ISO100), the flash provides enough power for most applications.
The Speedlite 430EX III-RT weighs only about 295 g and is only about 113.8 mm long - so there's always room in your pocket.
Power is supplied by type AA batteries (mignon cells), which make the flash unit ready for use again in only approx. 3.2 seconds after complete flash discharge.

Simple operation and intuitive interface
The Speedlite 430EX III-RT's controls are very similar to those of an EOS camera. Function buttons provide direct access to key functions, and a mode dial allows quick adjustment of settings. A Caps Lock button prevents settings from being accidentally changed. The LCD shows settings and shooting information at a glance, and it's easy to read even in low light thanks to the backlight.

Can be used as an unleashed flash - for a completely individual look
The Speedlite 430EX III-RT can also be positioned externally to create an illumination where the light comes from different directions. When controlled via radio frequency, the Speedlite 430EX III-RT can be positioned up to 30 meters away from the signal generator, even without direct eye contact. This provides more flexibility in positioning and expands creativity.
However, the Speedlite 430EX III-RT can also be fired via an optical signal, making it ready for immediate use in an existing setup. It can be remotely controlled from a distance of up to 10 meters using an optionally available Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 or the transmitter built into many EOS cameras.
When using multiple flash units in a group, the illuminance of the entire group can be controlled individually. Up to five groups of up to 15 flash units each can be set up.

Indirect lighting for flattering portraits
A movable flash head allows the flash to be aimed so that it reflects off a wall or ceiling, providing virtually shadow-free illumination that is ideal for portraits.
An integrated reflector provides a so-called catchlight, which directs light to the subject's eyes and thus emphasizes their expression.
If you attach the included bounce adapter, the flash light is diffused even better and appears even softer. An included color filter better matches the color temperature of the flash to indoor light.
The Speedlite 430EX III-RT can adjust the illumination to match the focal length of the lens in question.

As part of the EOS family, the flash offers full compatibility with other Speedlite flash units
In a multiple-flash setup, the Speedlite 430EX III-RT can be combined with other flash units such as the Speedlite 600EX-RT.
An externally positioned Speedlite 430EX III-RT can be fired with a Speedlite transmitter such as the ST-E3-RT, as well as with the Speedlite transmitter built into many EOS cameras.

Dual wireless flash firing
Because the Speedlite 430EX III-RT can be fired by both radio and optical signals when used externally, it is particularly versatile. If a radio signal is used for triggering, the flash unit can be located up to 30 meters away from the signal transmitter without the need for visual contact. This allows it to be positioned much more flexibly - for example, outside a room to flash through a window.
The option to trigger via an optical signal, allows the Speedlite 430EX III-RT to be fired from a distance of up to 10 meters with the Speedlite Transmitter integrated in many EOS cameras (e.g. EOS 760D, EOS 70D or EOS 7D Mark II) without any additional accessories.
