WELCOME TO THE NEW AGE OF FILMMAKING
The EOS C70 is a next-generation Cinema camera that bridges the gap between DILC and Cinema cameras with its RF bayonet and Super 35mm DGO 4K sensor.
Thanks to its design, the EOS C70 is suitable for a wide range of uses - including documentaries, productions of all kinds, news, reports and social media. For the latter, shooting videos in portrait format is particularly interesting, which the camera handles very well. Its compact design and additional features allow filmmakers to shoot freehand or from a rig and drone. It also offers multiple recording formats for storage on SD cards - including 4K up to 120 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit in XF-AVC (All-I or Long GOP) or MP4 in HEVC (H.265) or H.264, allowing filmmakers to adapt to different production requirements. Also being introduced today is the EF-EOS R 0.71x bayonet adapter: An EF-to-RF adapter that allows the extensive selection of Canon EF Lenses to be used with the EOS C70 while maintaining the full-frame angle of view. This improves compatibility between Canon's two popular interchangeable lens systems.

Compact Camera for Cinema Quality
The compact design of the EOS C70 was made possible thanks to the small flange focal length of the EOS R system. The camera may be the smallest and lightest in the Canon Cinema EOS System, but it's still loaded with features that support a versatile range of professional production requirements. It features 13 configurable numbered buttons on the camera body, a multifunctional handle for ease of use, professional inputs/outputs including timecode, HDMI and two mini-XLR connectors for audio, and an independent ventilation system. In addition, it features a new, thinner ND filter arrangement that covers up to 10 stops, giving filmmakers greater control over exposure and depth of field.

The World of RF Bayonet - Now for Cinema Productions
Canon's RF Lenses are renowned for their excellent image quality and functionality. The bayonet's technology was developed to provide current advantages in video production - ideal for the Canon Cinema EOS System cameras. The EOS C70 now offers a comprehensive selection of high-quality lenses from the ever-expanding RF series - including telephoto, zoom and macro lenses, as well as high-quality fixed focal lengths with particularly high speed. For optimal image stabilization, the EOS C70 offers the combination of the Lens's optical IS and the camera's in-camera digital Movie IS. This exceptionally effective stabilization allows significantly more latitude when shooting freehand. Advanced communication between the lens and camera unlocks additional features such as the ability to display subject distance on the camera's LCD monitor.

Canon's optional EF-EOS R 0.71x bayonet adapter is an EF-to-RF adapter that allows the same angle of view to be imaged on even the Super 35mm sensor as on a full-frame sensor, using Canon's extensive range of full-frame EF Lenses. Shortening the focal length of the Lens increases the speed by approximately one stop. Full communication between the EF Lens and camera body is maintained when using the adapter. The EF-EOS R 0.71x bayonet adapter supports autofocus, vignetting correction and chromatic aberration correction, and also full lens metadata exchange.

Spectacular 4K Image Quality
Thanks to the Super 35mm DGO (Dual Gain Output) sensor, which is also used in the popular EOS C300 Mark III, the EOS C70 delivers exceptional image quality with more than 16 stops of dynamic range. Similar to the EOS C300 Mark III, the EOS C70 delights with lifelike, cinematic colors, exceptionally pristine image quality even in low light, and top-notch HDR shooting. With its DGO sensor and DIGIC DV7 image processor, the EOS C70 delivers excellent results in professional 4K shooting. It enables slow-motion shooting in 4K 120 fps with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and audio recording. The Super 16mm mode offers even higher frame rates at 2K 180 fps. The EOS C70 can record to two SD cards in Canon's XF-AVC format at up to 4K 4:2:2 10-bit. High-resolution footage can thus be recorded for a wide range of applications - from documentaries and reports to music videos and web-based content.

Compatible with many innovative features of other systems
The EOS C70 offers further "firsts" in the Cinema EOS series of systems. Not only does it support Canon's proven Dual Pixel CMOS AF, it is also the first camera in the EOS system to feature the revolutionary EOS iTR AF X (Intelligent Tracking and Recognition), inherited from the newly launched EOS R5. The system uses an algorithm programmed with Deep Learning AI to recognize the shooting scene as well as eyes, faces, heads and bodies. Combined with Face Detection AF, this feature improves reliability when focusing on and tracking moving subjects. Similarly, the EOS C70 introduces Auto ISO for the first time to the Cinema EOS family of models.

Canon breaks new ground with the EOS C70, which is the first camera in the EOS system with a dedicated portrait shooting mode that supports content capture for social media and digital signage.

Convenient storage concept and customized workflows
The EOS C70 offers different storage options at resolutions of 4K DCI, 4K UHD, 2K and Full HD. Designed for tasks that simplify post-production workflows, the two SD card slots support high-speed SD UHS-II memory cards with diverse configurations: Backup recording, simultaneous recording in multiple formats, or continuous recording. For the first time on a Cinema EOS camera, it's possible to record different formats, resolutions, and bit rates to different card slots, contributing to a truly flexible workflow.
